We use a newer, more seamless way to authenticate a user in software called "magic links," which have been around for about a dozen years—no more usernames and passwords for guardians and students/members. What Are Magic Links? Instead of members and guardians going to a login page to see their program's details in CutTime, they will open their cell phone messaging app or email and find a text or email message from CutTime. Inside of this notification will be their personalized and secure magic link - meaning that this is unique to that individual's cell phone number or email address, and acts as their "login". Much like a username and password, an individual's magic link should not be shared by members and guardians with anyone else. SMS as the Primary Communication Method The CutTime next gen system uses SMS as its primary means of notification to members and guardians. This means that CutTime will first send communications to the cell phone # on file for a member or guardian. Should the message bounce, the individual opt out, or there is no number/email on file, the system will then send out an email instead. Opting Out of SMS Messaging Members and guardians do have the option to choose email as their primary form of communication. They can reply "STOP" to the CutTime number in response to the message to opt out of text messaging. As long as they have an email listed in their profile, the system will then resort to using email to send them messages from CutTime.

Jacob Reeves | Herndon High School Band < Back Jacob Reeves Marching Percussion Mr. Reeves is currently a Band Director at Mercer Middle School in Loudoun County, VA. He has previously taught at J. Michael Lunsford Middle School and Fluvanna Middle School. Mr. Reeves earned his Bachelors of Music from James Madison University in 2021 with an emphasis PreK-12 Instrumental Education and has since added Pre-k-12 Vocal Music Education. Mr. Reeves has taught percussion at Falls Church HS, Herndon HS, Dominion HS, Potomac Falls HS, River Bend Middle School, Freedom HS, and is the former Music Director of the Eta Omicron chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi. He has directed and conducted 2 major POPs benefit concerts including over 200 musicians, and 7 different musical ensembles, raising over 18k for non-profit organizations. the pandemic Mr. Reeves has directed more than 50 virtual pieces for Langley HS Bands, Herndon HS Orchestras, George Mason HS Bands, Centerville HS Bands, and his own 2020 Virtual Christmas Concert featuring 150+ musicians from coast to coast in 30+ pieces. Mr. Reeves has been privileged to perform internationally with American Music Abroad Blue Tour and the JMU Brass Band. Some of his most memorable performances include his three performances at the Virginia Music Educators Association Conference where, at the 2013 conference performance, he was featured as a soloist performing with the Herndon High School Wind Ensemble; marched in the Pearl Harbor Memorial Day Parade in Honolulu, the Cherry Blossom Parade in Washington D.C, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC, and in the final Disney World Electric Light Parade in Orlando. Lastly, he performed twice at the Kennedy Center in the Cappies Orchestra. He is a member of the Brass Band of Northern Virginia and looks forward to taking the Freedom HS Percussion ensemble to compete in the Percussive Arts Society International Convention Chamber Ensemble Competition. In his free time, he supports his local church and school systems adding music to their programs. He looks forward to all of the new music making opportunities presented each day. His vision is to give back what others have done for him by creating an innovative environment for students to discover the beauty, passion, and stories in music through self exploration! This role ensures that the organization’s technology infrastructure is secure, reliable, and aligned with the needs of the board, volunteers, students, and families. The IT Chair oversees technology planning, manages the organization’s technology resources, and leads a team responsible for supporting day-to-day operations and major events. Responsibilities include: Develops and recommend the organization’s technology strategy to improve operational efficiency, security, and long-term sustainability Oversees the administration and security of the HHSBPA’s Google Workspace environment, including user accounts, shared resources, organizational settings, and Google for Nonprofits compliance Manages the organization’s technology assets, including hardware, software, cloud services, and subscriptions Ensures technology systems, equipment, and services are available, secure, and properly configured to support meetings, performances, competitions, fundraising events, and other activities Leads and supports the Technology team, including the Webmaster and IT Support volunteers, by establishing priorities, providing guidance, and coordinating technology initiatives, and removing impedements Partners with the Communications team to improve the effectiveness, reliability, and accessibility of the organization’s digital platforms Evaluates emerging technologies and recommends solutions that improve collaboration, increase capabilities, reduce risk, or optimize costs Develops and maintains technology documentation, operational procedures, and best practices to ensure continuity between board members and volunteers Advises and educates the Board of Directors on technology related opportunities, risks, and best practices to support informed decision-making Provides technical leadership and problem solving for technology related issues affecting the organization’s operations Previous Next

Indoor Drumline Ensemble in the Herndon High School Band < Back Indoor Drumline The Herndon Indoor Drumline is our indoor competitive percussion unit. We practice twice weekly throughout the winter and early spring and we will perform at four weekend contests in February and March. We are aiming for a highly competitive battery and front ensemble to show off our skills at competitions and have some fun music to perform. Memoriam for three former Herndon High School marching band students who passed away in memoriAm On August 7, 2015, three former members of the Pride of Herndon Class of 2014 lost their lives in a tragic automobile accident while en route to a video game convention in Texas when a driver entered the highway traveling in the wrong direction. The three friends were part of the band's 2013-2014 leadership team. Kyle Mathers was manager of the Pep Band, Dale Neibaur was trombone section leader, and Holly Novak was a drum major. Their passing left a large hole in the hearts of all who knew them. Kyle Mathers Kyle was a member of the marching band, Jazz band, First Robotics Team 116, and Drama Club Pit Crew. He was a Life Scout with Boy Scout Troops 1570 and 1577. While studying at Northern Virginia Community College, his community activities included organizing the Pride of Herndon Marching Band Relay for Life Team, and leading their fundraising efforts. He was very active with the Trinity Presbyterian Youth. And he also played with the Herndon Regional Wind Ensemble and the NOVA Jazz Ensemble. holly novak Holly was a drum major for The Pride of Herndon Band and also served as co-captain of the band’s Relay for Life team. At Reston Bible Church, she served as an Awana leader for Cubbies and Sparks. She also served as a helper for several summer Kid's Camps. She was attending Northern Virginia Community College to pursue a degree in psychology to assist her in her lifelong goal of being a dolphin trainer. dale Neibaur Dale was trombone section leader in the marching band, and was also active in the Jazz band and anything having to do with music.

Sharon Bonneau | Herndon High School Band < Back Sharon Bonneau Woodwinds Tech, Marching Band In 1987, Ms. Bonneau graduated as class valedictorian from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, where she received her Bachelor of Music degree with a dual major in Clarinet Performance and Instrumental Music Education. While at Eastman, Ms. Bonneau studied clarinet with D. Stanley Hasty and Charles Neidich, and jazz improvisation with Ramon Ricker. In 1995, she completed a Master of Arts Degree in Conducting at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, where she was a student of Professor Anthony Maiello. Ms. Bonneau was a member of the United States Air Force Concert Band for nine years. During that time, she was a featured soloist with the band’s Dixieland group, was a guest conductor of the Concert Band, and performed with the Air Force Chamber Players and Symphony Orchestra. While with the USAF Band, Ms. Bonneau toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe and performed at numerous music conventions. She was appointed to the position of Adjunct Professor of Clarinet at George Mason University in 1995 and taught there until 2017. In August, 2015, Ms. Bonneau became the band director at Kilmer Middle School in Vienna, Virginia. Her responsibilities at Kilmer include directing the Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Preparatory Band, and Percussion Ensemble. Prior to that, she was the director of bands at Herndon Middle School from 2001-2015, where she had served as the Performing Arts Department Chairperson since 2009. Currently Ms. Bonneau is active as an adjudicator and clinician. Previous Next
