Webmaster Herndon High School Band < Back Previous Next Webmaster Ryan Buckner webmaster@herndonband.org I'M INTERESTED Subcommittee Maintains and updates the HHS Band online presence, hosting accounts, and email forwarding. Works with all members of the board to coordinate timely updates to the website content for band events and activities. Responsible for: Website design : Maintaining the website's design, keeping it up-to-date, and configuring new features Website performance : Monitoring website traffic, user behavior, and engagement, and generating reports to analyze and improve performance Website security : Implementing security measures and ensuring the website is secure Website functionality : Testing websites across different platforms, browsers, operating systems, and devices to ensure functionality and efficiency Search engine optimization (SEO) : Reviewing SEO to enhance website visibility User support : Interacting with users to address technical issues, answer queries, and provide assistance with website usage Content management : Updating website content regularly to keep it looking fresh Training : Training Board and Committee members how to effectively make updates to support their volunteer duties Seasonal events : Updates annual events with latest information to include dates, times, descriptions, ticketing, and images R&D : Researches, develops, and implements new ideas to improve the efficiency of the HHSBPA Previous Next

Erica Hirt (In Memoriam) | Herndon High School Band < Back Erica Hirt (In Memoriam) Marching Tech, Marching Band Ms. Hirt worked with the Pride of Herndon Marching band from the fall of 2011 to winter of 2025. An alumna of Herndon High School, class of 2007, she graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Music degree in 2011. She was the band director at Armstrong ES in Reston and Forestville ES in Great Falls. In addition to teaching in Fairfax County Public Schools, she also taught private bassoon lessons in Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William Counties. She performed regularly with the Fairfax Wind Symphony, Manassas Symphony Orchestra, and several other amateur music groups in Herndon and Chantilly. Previous Next

Jacob Reeves | Herndon High School Band < Back Jacob Reeves Marching Percussion Mr. Reeves is currently a Band Director at Mercer Middle School in Loudoun County, VA. He has previously taught at J. Michael Lunsford Middle School and Fluvanna Middle School. Mr. Reeves earned his Bachelors of Music from James Madison University in 2021 with an emphasis PreK-12 Instrumental Education and has since added Pre-k-12 Vocal Music Education. Mr. Reeves has taught percussion at Falls Church HS, Herndon HS, Dominion HS, Potomac Falls HS, River Bend Middle School, Freedom HS, and is the former Music Director of the Eta Omicron chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi. He has directed and conducted 2 major POPs benefit concerts including over 200 musicians, and 7 different musical ensembles, raising over 18k for non-profit organizations. the pandemic Mr. Reeves has directed more than 50 virtual pieces for Langley HS Bands, Herndon HS Orchestras, George Mason HS Bands, Centerville HS Bands, and his own 2020 Virtual Christmas Concert featuring 150+ musicians from coast to coast in 30+ pieces. Mr. Reeves has been privileged to perform internationally with American Music Abroad Blue Tour and the JMU Brass Band. Some of his most memorable performances include his three performances at the Virginia Music Educators Association Conference where, at the 2013 conference performance, he was featured as a soloist performing with the Herndon High School Wind Ensemble; marched in the Pearl Harbor Memorial Day Parade in Honolulu, the Cherry Blossom Parade in Washington D.C, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC, and in the final Disney World Electric Light Parade in Orlando. Lastly, he performed twice at the Kennedy Center in the Cappies Orchestra. He is a member of the Brass Band of Northern Virginia and looks forward to taking the Freedom HS Percussion ensemble to compete in the Percussive Arts Society International Convention Chamber Ensemble Competition. In his free time, he supports his local church and school systems adding music to their programs. He looks forward to all of the new music making opportunities presented each day. His vision is to give back what others have done for him by creating an innovative environment for students to discover the beauty, passion, and stories in music through self exploration!
