DJ Godinez – Marching Tech, Marching Band

Mr. Godinez began working with The Pride of Herndon in 2010. He is the Choral Director at Woodbridge Senior High School and the head of the Vocal Concentration in Woodbridge’s Center for Fine and Performing Arts. Under his direction, his choirs have consistently received superior ratings. Mr. Godinez graduated from James Madison University in 2011 with a Bachelors of Music and is pursuing a Masters of Vocal Music Education at Virginia Commonwealth University. He currently sings with the Voce Chamber Singers, based in Reston and gives voice lessons in the Prince William, Fairfax, and Arlington areas.

Kinsey Holland - Marching Tech

Ms. Holland has been working with the Pride of Herndon Marching Band since 2013. An alumni of Fairfax County, class of 2008, she graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Music in 2013. While at West Virginia, Ms. Holland participated in many different ensembles including the Pride of West Virginia Marching band where she was the baritone section leader for two years and a featured soloist. She is currently an elementary band director at Louise Archer ES and Marshall Road ES in Vienna. She also teaches local trombone, euphonium and tuba students in the northern Virginia area and performs regularly with the Herndon Regional Wind Ensemble.

Brett Lemley – Jazz Band Director 

Mr. Lemley is an accomplished jazz musician who has worked with the Herndon Band since 2003. In addition to teaching the Jazz Ensemble class, he assists with the Pride of Herndon Marching Band, serving as the unit’s physical coach, drawing on several years’ experience as a CrossFit certified trainer. When not with Herndon, Mr. Lemley maintains a full studio of private students, and a busy schedule as a freelance trumpeter, playng with the jazz band Blue Sky 5, as well as Lead Trumpet with the Tom Cunningham Orchestra, and Principal Trumpet with the Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic.
