Bag Policy

Spectators are not allowed to bring bags (including backpacks and purses) into the game.

Herndon Trip Schedule:

7:45am Report to HHS wearing show shirt and marching shoes

9:00am Begin loading trucks

10:00am Load school busses; eat lunch on the bus

11:15am Arrive Colgan HS; Pass out shakos/plumes; Unload instruments/equipment

1:00pm Perform

1:45pm Blue Awards

• Change out of uniforms into show shirts

• Visit concessions and watch other bands (Patriot, Woodbridge, King George, Oakton, Alexandria City, Madison, Robinson, Lake Braddock, Lightridge)

5:00pm Load buses

6:15pm Approximate dismissal time after unloading equipment and dismissing together

The Colgan Classic Marching Band Competition

High School bands from across the area will come together and compete against each other while showing off their musical talent.

Bands are categorized in divisions (A-AAAAA) based on their size, and compete in the following areas:

• Music Performance

• Visual Performance

• General Effect

• Percussion

• Auxiliary

Judges score bands in the areas above, and the top three bands in each area are awarded trophies. The band with the highest overall score of the competition is awarded the Grand Champion Award for the competition.

• Spectators: $10 General Admission, $5 Students & Senior Citizens, FREE Kids under 5

• "Shop" to purchase shout outs ahead of time that will be read by the announcer as your band enters the field

• Anyone can purchase $10 ads for the "Student Spotlight" in the digital program
