All District Band Auditions
It's never to early to start preparing!

All District Band Auditions are held each January and are an opportunity for band students to audition to be a member of the District XII Band. The musicians who get the highest scores will be invited to perform in an incredible band comprised of the top musicians in the district.  More information will be posted closer to audition time.

Rising 7th Grader Auditions

Ms. Bonneau will come to Aldrin, Armstrong, Clearview, Dranesville, Herndon, and Hutchison Elementary Schools in the Spring to hear you play.  Your elementary school band director and Ms. Bonneau will set it all up, so you don’t need to worry about anything except playing your best!  Note:  If you do not attend one of the above feeder schools, please email Ms. Bonneau to set up an audition time.

Training Band  
No assessment necessary.  Instruments will be chosen in September -- Please do not rent/purchase an instrument until the director instructs you to do so.
 
Percussionists (all levels)
It is important that Ms. Bonneau hears what you play well.  Play whatever you are able to from the following:
Scales – on bells:  Choose from C, F, G, Bb, D, Eb, A, Ab, E, Chromatic
Rudiments – on pad:  Choose from concert roll, five stroke roll, single stroke roll, long roll, flam, paradiddle, flam tap, and ruff
Prepared Pieces:  You may want to play a piece on pad and on bells – show your best stuff!  Ms. Bonneau would like to hear anything at all that you are able to play!!!  You may play band music that you like.
 
Cadet Band, Concert Band, and Symphonic Band
It is important that Ms. Bonneau hears what you play well.  This will help to determine which group you are best suited for.  Play whatever you are able to from the following:
Scales:  Choose from C, F, G, Bb, D, Eb, A, Ab, E, Chromatic
Prepared Piece:  Play a piece that you play well.  You may play band music that you like.  The most important thing is that you PLAY WELL so that Ms. Bonneau can hear your best stuff!!!
