Welcome to the HMS Band Program for the 2010 - 2011 School Year!

First Day Info:

No instruments are needed for the first day of school.  Ms. Bonneau will let students know when to bring instruments to school.

Important Dates:

Parents Meeting -- Wednesday, Sept 15 at 7PM in the Band Room.  All band parents should plan to attend to learn about the band programs, requirements, and upcoming events.

Ice Cream Social -- Wednesday, September 29 from 3-4 in the HMS Cafeteria.

Homecoming -- Saturday, October 23.  Marching opportunity for Symphonic and Concert Band members and an opportunity to meet the HHS Marching Band members and find out about the high school band programs.

Parents -- Become a Part of Herndon History

In just 1 or 2 short years, your child will be at Herndon High School which will celebrate its centennial in 2011.  Whether they join the Pride of Herndon Band, play a sport, or participate in other activities, their high school years are sure to have a tremendous impact on them.  You have the opportunity to become part of Herndon High history and create a lasting legacy for your child(ren) and family by donating a brick paver to the Hundred Year Highway.  To learn more about this exciting opportunity, please click here.

Chair Auditions:

Chair Auditions are held for both the Concert and Symphonic bands.  Auditions will begin the end of September/beginning of October.  Students can start preparing now by practicing their scales and sight reading.
